Once hooked onto the transoms, the technician releases the underside safety clip to lower the inclined ladder onto the lift below; closing the trapdoor restores a continuous walking surface.

SM-H461 is fitted with Ø48.3 mm claws tailored for H-frames, while SM-F462 features reinforced Ringlock transom hooks with integrated wind-locks. On 105 cm wide scaffolds, pairing one 60 cm ladder deck beside one 30 cm steel plank fills the full 90 cm working width.
